Meet KaasayKaasay (Nancy Watters) is an expert sound therapist, professional vocalist, chant master, Registered Clinical Counsellor (RCC) and educator. She is known internationally for her angelic chanting that blends seamlessly with the pure, crystalline tones of Alchemy™ Quartz Crystal Singing Bowls. She accompanies herself with a variety of world instruments including African and Native drums, native flute, shruti box, Ektara and kalimba. Her performances have taken her to India, Samoa, Australia, Germany, France, Spain, Slovakia, Israel, Tonga, and throughout Canada and the United States. She founded Luminous Tones Music in 2005 to create "music for health and harmony."
Kaasay's enthusiasm for making music with others is infectious. Her soundscapes have been called “otherworldly”. They consistently shift people into relaxed states of consciousness normally only accomplished through years of meditation. Kaasay says, “I am passionate about sound therapy because it is esthetically beautiful, as well as powerfully effective. It consistently releases pain and empowers people to achieve vibrant wellness.” Since 2010 Kaasay has maintained a private psychology practice in Victoria, British Columbia. She uses a holistic, strengths-based approach to help people recover from anxiety, depression, trauma, and abuse. She has expertise in Sound Therapy, Classical Adlerian psychotherapy, Reiki, Acupressure, Homeopathy and Positive Psychology. She helps people cultivate mindfulness, love, compassion, gratitude, courage and hope. Her clients benefit from her 30 years of experience working in a wide variety of settings, including schools, universities and clinics. |
Kaasay is Nancy's Tlinkit name meaning Higher Voice. She was ceremonially adopted and honoured with this name in 2007, by Mary Brown of the SE Alaska Wooshkitan Eagle clan. Mary has adopted people from around the world, of many ethnic and racial groups, with the aim of demonstrating the Oneness of Humanity. Kaasay says, “While academic learning is valuable, its the 'school of life' that helps us find real meaning and purpose. I’ve had my share of challenges, including Divorce, Depression and Diabetes. These experiences strengthened my Determination, Daring and Delight—qualities that I now use to help my clients.” Kaasay has two grown children and three grandchildren. She has been a Bahá’í since 1972, actively promoting social justice, gender equality, religious and racial tolerance, economic equity, environmental sustainability and world peace. A portion of Luminous Tones profits are donated to organizations that promote these principles. TRIBUTES AWARDS AND ACCOMPLISHMENTS APPEARANCES BOOKING INFORMATION CREDENTIALS |
